BOB - The Final Frontier

I hate Star Trek :\

This is the final BOB guys, but certainly not the last. I think.. Well sequences is basically read the problem, figure which equation to use, figure out any unknown variables if needed and simplify. I hope I can find it easy to do this. This unit was as short as me yet we crammed a lot of information into that short period of time. Hey remember when I broke Miles' toy snake? Boy was that depressing.. Anyways I have a load of studying to do and that movie won't make itself. Good luck on tomorrow's test and in the near future's exam. This is Jojo Rocks logging off for now. In the words of Derek Zoolander, I bid you all a farewell.

"What is this? A centre for ants? How can we be expected to teach children to learn how to read... if they can't even fit inside the building?"

SCRIBE

Another scribe post in the words of Jojo Rocks.

Was surprised finding out I was scribe of all days. Yet today was pretty interesting. In the morning we had our pre-test, a very interesting pre-test mind you and it seemed everyone had a fine idea how this unit worked. Good thing the equations were on the board. I have enough trouble remembering every other equation... Anyways we were put into groups and the room lit up with conversations. My group was interesting, 2 great minds working while 1 great mind in progress (me) layed back with a question mark on his head nodding to everything they agreed too. Just kidding.. Time ran out quickly so we had to wait to see how some answers turned out the way they did.

So yeah, the afternoon class came right away. My mind was sorta somewhere else since I have a short film wit ha script to create by Thursday I think. But yeah we went through the 5Th question on the pre-test since it had some issues for some people. although a lot of people had different rounded numbers we all were pretty close. Funny how a funny worded problem had so many solutions to it. The podcast recording stopped working again. Twice. Blamed it on Richard, the usual stuff. After that was all over and done with we did some homework based questions as review which are on the slides.

There was an interesting talk about the Koch snowflake and how there are 10 different dimensions. Mr. K explained how a square won't see a sphere and how we'd see ourselves as worms if we saw in the 4th dimension. Very hard to comprehend but sounds very easy to say. Don't you love that? Scribe tomorrow is... SAM!

Just kidding Sam, Sorry Jeng your it!

Ohh my lanta!

Ohh my lanta, I almost forgot to BOB.

Anyways, conix was pretty much a very short unit. I didn't even know what the unit was called until I read the other BOB's. It was such a smooth unit that I actually got everything we were being taught. Good luck on the test guys.

BOB your heart out

This is my unit! I think I've clearly zoomed through this unit like a bowl of rice. If the test is as simple as the quizzes, we all should do fine right? I myself am tired of bombing on tests, so I'm studying all tonight tomorrow and Monday night. If I don't get at least an 80%, I'm gonna cry. I hope you all do great as well. Good luck.

BOB v3

Hello motto. Test on exponents and logarithms is tomorrow! This is my unit. "Teachers love teaching this unit because there's so many manipulations you can do. Students hate learning this unit because there's so many manipulations you can do." Well isn't this quite true? So many confusing concepts to know it's horrifying! Good luck and have fun tomorrow!

Tito BOB

Omaesan! Man I wish I remembered to do this in advance to the test. The unit Identities sure was easy at the beginning wasn't it? I mean changing tan in terms of sin and cos cmon that was easy. Then it grew and grew into equations where its all a mess. But you'd have to think outside the box or look at the identities sheet to know what steps to take. Then there was the dancing class. Boy was that ever fun. Overall what a great unit. I hope everyone including me does their best on the test. Arigato gozaimasu!

With the words of the Red Jumpsuits and their song Cat and Mouse "I said I'd never leave you'll never change I'm not satisfied with where I'm at in life" aim high in life guys. But don't aim so high that even you can't reach.

Jojo Rock's Scribe post v2

Hey, can I have another moment of your time guys? It's another scribe post by your friendly and always supportive classmate Jojo! Man I feel so awkward just typing that. Anyways once again, I'm going to break down today's classes. Thank you Bert for choosing me as scribe. Giving me such an easy day (NOOOOOT). Even I struggled today and this is supposed to be my unit! I felt so confident at the beginning and as the unit went on I was blew away. Thank Jebus we don't need to memorize all those identities. Wouldn't that be a pain in the behind eh? Anyways....

In today's morning class we did some review work. Really wasn't review to me, some reason I don't remember seeing half of those questions before.

1-sec^2x is identical to..

a) -tan^2x b)tan^2x c)cot^2x d)csc^2 e)cos^2x

What my good friend John did for this question was write down the basic identity cos^2x+sin^2x=1. From there he divided everything by cos^2x because it would give 1/cos^2x on the right side which is equal to sec^2x. But also you end up with

1 + tan x = sec^2x

Simplifying this you get -tan^x = 1-sec^2x and your final answer of a!

The slides posted up by Mr. K shows a lot of what happened next. Like when given cos x = -1/3 and sin x < 0, we can find the value of sin x by drawing out out unit circle and by using the Pythagorean theorem we can find the missing side therefore just by looking at it we can easily the value of sin x. Thank you Sam for the wonderful work done in this question.

Everything is straight forward after that. We were given more questions which you can see in the slide show. Sorry guys no funny anime pictures or displays today. Maybe another time. Anyways I forgot to BOB, and I need to study for the test tomorrow and for the test in my history class... Ohh yeah SCRIBE TOMORROW is err let me check the list.. Since its an easy scribe tomorrow my very good friend MrSiwWy is who I will choose. Peow.

Bob v2

My second blogging on blogging for this class. I've done many in the past yet it never gets old to me. Hmm, what interesting tales shall I write to entertain you this time? Just kidding, it's all about our current unit that we've been studying for the past week and a half. Took me about 10 minutes looking through my notes looking for the name of the unit and its topics and I finally found it. It's TRANSFORMATIONS!!! This unit flew by pretty fast. So many funny moments on the smart board too. Anyways overall I think I get everything that's been going on. I'm still slow on these new graphing problems that we've been doing for the past few days but hopefully I'll catch on quick.

REMEMBER : Stretches before Translations, Stretches before Translations, Stretches before Translations, Stretches before Translations, Stretches before Translations, Stretches before Translations, Stretches before Translations, Stretches before Translations, Stretches before Translations, Stretches before Translations

I doubt I can be more explicit than that... STRETCHES BEFORE TRANSLATIONS! Peoooooooow

BOB

This unit is already done and boy was it hard for me. Although quizzes and tests were never really my thing, I know I get the material, I know I get the lectures but for some reason they never show on them haha. Anyways overall this unit was fun. Thinking proportionally helps a great deal with this unit. I don't think its an easy thing for me to comprehend but it does help a lot. Well that's all I have to say. Smart Board FTW!

Scribe Post

Hello everyone, I'm the scribe for today and I thought that I'd wrap this up as soon as possible before I forget. I haven't blogged since last year so I'm getting used to everything besides typing everything. This morning's and afternoon's class were very interesting in my opinion as we were preparing for the unit test which has been moved to Monday.

This morning's class Mr. K briefly praised Bertman's very well done scribe post. Probably everyone enjoyed it except me since he left a note saying that I was the next scribe. Soon after that, we continued with the matters at hand and had another quiz on Circular Functions. I on my part came prepared, but wasn't prepared for the questions that lied before me. But the majority of the class did fairly well and I congratulate those who did exceedingly better. It was basically a straight forward class. After the quiz, Mr. K explained in detail the solutions to the problems. What surprised me was that there wasn't any "smartboard" jokes unlike the previous day.

After all that work, we came to class expecting even more. And of course we did. But there was some good news during this class. Our test has been moved to Monday due to a class vote. If I remember clearly, we are to head to the library on Monday instead of going to his classroom. After his brief explanation we were given the Circular Function's Pre Test. The last step towards the actual test itself. Luckily we were able to use our calculators for this test. Too bad someone else had my calculator. Anyways after the 30 minutes or so we were given to finish the test, Mr. K again explained the solutions to the questions on the test. The most troublesome question was most likely question 5.

First off, rearranging the equation would be a good start. Anyhow, we can see clearly that 5(pi)/3 = b of the standard equation of a trig function. Therefore by reducing 2(pi)/5(pi)/3 we are left with 6/5. (Multiplying 2(pi) with the reciprocal of 5(pi)/3)

Since the amplitude is 20 and that the D of the standard trig equation is 100 we simply add and subtract 100 to get the max and the min.

I wish I could explain everything more in details but this is my limit so don't laugh! Don't let the Bleach pics throw you off, I put them up to fill in the empty spaces. All images were made using Adobe Photoshop CS2 and pictures were found on Google. I hope you enjoy this. Really nothing much left to cover up. But a reminder that the unit test has been moved to Monday and it's not tomorrow. Scribe for tomorrow is Kasiaw, haha have fun.
